Injection tool design evaluation

Injection tools are very productive tools able to produce very complex products. The more complex the product is, the more complex injection tool we might need to produce the part. To make sure, that the tool will be able to run the requested number of parts over its lifetime, many features of the tool need to be considered. Some of the most important are:

  • Steel to steel contact conditions
  • Plastic part split line, parting lines and tool spotting surfaces
  • Tool centering conditions
  • Tool manipulation system (lifting, turning)
  • Tool components materials (various components can be made from different materials)
  • Tool injection system (one or more gates, hot or cold systems, sequence opening or without)
  • Tool kinematics (opening, closing, demolding and part evacuation)
  • Tool venting system
  • Tool tempering system (cooling or heating)
  • and many more important features.
